Dana White has been promoted to new role following UFC-WWE merger

Dana White has a new position at the UFC after receiving a promotion following the blockbuster merger with WWE.

The collaboration between the UFC and WWE saw White given a new title, having been the president of the MMA promotion since 2001 when the company was bought by the Fertitta brothers.

But following the merger with WWE, the 54-year-old has been promoted to the chief executive officer (CEO) of the UFC.

However, despite White's new role, nothing will change as far as his role as the leader of the UFC.

He will continue to promote the events and be the face of the company.

As for WWE, Paul 'Triple H' Levesque will remain as the head of creative and chief content officer

White joined Endeavor CEO Ari Emmanuel to help ring the bell at the New York Stock Exchange to signal the first day of public trading for the UFC-WWE merger.

WWE executive chairman Vince McMahon, WWE CEO Nick Khan and senior executive vice president, chief operating officer of the UFC Lawrence Epstein and former UFC champion Daniel Cormier, among others, also joined the historic ceremony.

Speaking after the completion of the merger and Dana White's Contender Series 62, the UFC boss said: "I’m excited about the future and what we’re going to do. And I always am, regardless, but after this merger, we’re just so much more powerful than we were yesterday."

UFC's first show since the merger goes down this weekend as women's flyweight champion Alex Grasso faces Valentina Shevchenko in a championship rematch.
