Fans left shocked at Deontay Wilder's legs after training footage emerges

Boxing fans have been left shocked at the size of Deontay Wilder's legs after new training footage emerged online.

The Bronze Bomber has not fought since October 2022, when he beat Robert Helenius by knockout in the first round of their WBC World Heavyweight championship fight.

While the WBC announced last year that Wilder would fight Andy Ruiz Jr for a shot at Tyson Fury's WBC belt.

However, a date has not yet been set for the fight, and with Wilder having only fought three times in the last three years, including two defeats to Tyson Fury, the bout looks increasingly unlikely to happen.

Nevertheless, the 37-year-old has been hard at work as he holds out for a fight with Anthony Joshua.

Wilder posted footage of himself taking part in a beach sparring session on his Instagram account, with the caption 'WooSah', a slang term for calm and relaxation.

However, while he is usually known for his powerful punching, fans were drawn to the American's legs, suggesting they looked particularly thin.

Taking to social media, one fan wrote: "Still makes no sense that those skinny legs belong to an all-time p4p hard hitting puncher."

Another joked: "Seen more leg muscle on a sparrow's knee cap."

While a third wrote: "Only boxer I know whose photoshopped legs haven’t been photoshopped."

A fourth added: "It still boggles my mind how his legs can be so skinny for a big dude."

A fifth posted: "It’s so difficult not to think about how thin his legs are."

And it's not just fans who have picked up on the size of Wilder's legs, with rival heavyweight Dillian Whyte also taking shots at the boxer's unusual frame.

“As I have always said, anyone who stands up to Wilder and takes the fight to him will struggle. For one, he can’t box,” Whyte told The AK and Barak Show on Sirius XM.

“Two, his balance is terrible, and his legs are like something I’ve never seen.

“Evander Holyfield had skinny legs. His legs are skinnier than Evander Holyfield’s. He was a light heavyweight and moved up to heavyweight.

“I believe all those guys he beat, they were beating him. They were all backing him up, pressing him, and sometimes almost knocking him out.

“That was until he landed that one punch. So I believe anyone who took the fight to him and wasn’t scared of him would have knocked him out."
