Erik ten Hag makes 'final decision' over Jadon Sancho's Man Utd future

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has made his 'final' decision over Jadon Sancho's future at the club, according to a new report.

Sancho hasn't played for United since August after he was involved in a public dispute with the Dutch manager.

After the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal on September 6, Ten Hag claimed that Sancho was not picked in the matchday squad due to sub-par training performances.

But the England winger disagreed with this assessment, releasing a lengthy statement on social media claiming that he had been made a 'scapegoat'.

United released a club statement on September 14, confirming that Sancho was currently completing a 'personal training programme' away from the first team squad.

Reports claim that Ten Hag is awaiting an apology from the 23-year-old over the incident before re-integrating him into the first team squad.

Now, according to the Daily Mirror, the Dutch manager has made it clear to club chiefs that Sancho should be sold in January if he continues to refuse to apologise to him.

And the Daily Mail claim that United are willing to subsidise his £300,000-a-week wages in order to agree a loan move with another club - with Juventus and Borussia Dortmund both said to be put off by the club's £60 million valuation.

The report adds that United are concerned that a prolonged period on the sidelines would cause his valuation to dramatically reduce, with Sancho needing to produce in a top European league regularly for that valuation to stay at a similar figure to what it is now.

Ten Hag has not mentioned Sancho by name publicly since their disagreement, although did use his pre-match press conference against Brighton last month to make a general point on United's culture.

He explained: "With this generation, it's all about team construction and the group dynamic. It's always about the team - the team is ahead of anything else.

"But in the team, everyone plays his role, everyone is different, there are different characters. You have to manage those characters. But the team is above anything else.

"The club asked me, because there was a no-good culture before last season, to set some standards. That's what I did. It's my job to control the standards."
