Jose Mourinho 'offered mind-blowing Saudi Pro League contract' to make him world's highest-paid manager

Jose Mourinho will be offered a mind-blowing deal by the Saudi Pro League which would make him the world's highest-paid manager, according to reports.

The Saudi Pro League spent huge amounts of money on new players this summer, with at least 10 players reportedly earning more than £20 million per year.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema top the scale by earning £173 million and £172 million respectively, while Neymar is also said to earn £138 million per year at Al Hilal.

But the influx of new players did not bring about an influx of managers. Al Ahli offered Fulham boss Marco Silva a £40 million per year deal in the summer, but the Portuguese turned it down to remain at Craven Cottage.

That could all be about to change, however, with reports claiming that Roma boss Mourinho will be offered an eye-watering sum to make the move to the Gulf state.

As per Goal, one Saudi club is reportedly readying a two-year contract worth a total of £104 million for Mourinho.

The 60-year-old is currently anticipated to leave Roma when his deal expires at the end of this season, with Sky Sports Italy's Gianluca Di Marzio claiming that no talks have been held over an extension.

And Mourinho himself spoke about the possibility of coaching in Saudi Arabia earlier this month: "I am focused on Roma and I will give my all until the last day I am here.

"Nobody knows the future, but I am convinced I will coach in Saudi Arabia one day. I don't know when, but I am quite sure it's something I'll surely do."

The identity of the club willing to offer Mourinho a huge deal is unknown at this stage - but a reunion with former Real Madrid star Ronaldo at Al Nassr would certainly catch the attention.
