Harvey Elliott involved in strange confrontation with Serbia's Vladimir Lucic, fans make same comments

Harvey Elliott squared up to Serbia captain Vladimir Lucic during this weekend's European Under-21 Championship qualifier – and fans have once again brought up the so-called 'Darwin Nunez effect'.

Earlier this week, Mohamed Salah was involved in an extremely rare tussle with an opposition player.

In fact, he had to separated from defender Moussa Hamadou after a fiery touchline incident during Egypt's 6-0 win over Djibouti.

Egypt's number 10 squared up to the defender before referee Jelly Chavani had to step in and push Salah away from the scene.

As you can see from the footage below, Elliott clashed heads with the much-taller Vladimir Lucic, who was then mocked by the Liverpool midfielder as he walked away.

It appears Elliott made an attempt to wind up the Serbia skipper further by imitating his finger wag.

The result that also featured a James McAtee brace leaves the defending champions second in the group ahead of Tuesday’s clash against Northern Ireland at Goodison Park.
