Man City’s pre-match outfit against Young Boys has divided opinion

Manchester City’s pre-match outfit against BSC Young Boys has divided opinions.

On Wednesday night, reigning European champions City travelled to Switzerland to take on Young Boys in the Champions League.

After winning their first two matches against RB Leipzig and Red Star Belgrade, Pep Guardiola’s men were looking to make it three wins out of three.

Arriving at the Wankdorf Stadium, City players wore a rather unusual cardigan and jeans outfit as the stars walked off the coach and into the stadium.

Their outfits, sponsored by luxury fashion brand Dsquared2 included personalise cardigans with each player’s name and number on the back.

When asked about the outfit, TNT Sports pundit Joe Cole said: “Unacceptable. The gaffer got out first and he looked like the milk tray man, looks brilliant. I don't care how many trebles you win, you've got to sort the gear out. It's horrendous.”

Whilst former City defender Joleon Lescott added: “When it doesn't look good on Jack Grealish, then I'm like yeah…”

City and Dsquared2 are in a long-term partnership which will see the fashion brand dress their players on numerous occasions throughout the season.

Dan and Dean Caten, founders and designers of Dsquared2 said: “We are honoured to be dressing the Manchester City team, we have designed a unique suit for the players and the staff, modern fit and elegant fabrics. Mr Guardiola and his team represent and embody Dsquared2 style and tailoring on sports.”
